M.a.c. offers scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 . The scholarships, are intended to assist and reward students who have demonstrated academic potential, leadership and extracurricular involvement, and are available for students pursuing degrees associated with a career in aviation, aeronautics or aerospace.
The scholarships are available to students from the Flagler County area who are enrolling in an accredited college, university or trade school and are enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester during the years of the awarded scholarship.
M.a.c. started the Wings Over Flagler William "Wild Bill" Walker Memorial Scholarship in 2010 in honor of our friend and fellow aviator, Bill Walker.
Aviation education is a primary goal of M.a.c. Scholarships and an opportunity to encourage youth to pursue careers that will positively impact the field of aerospace and aviation for years to come.
A dedication from the Family of William “Wild Bill” Walker:
God didn’t provide words that can describe the spirit that our Dad had in all aspects of life, but especially flying. Though we all feel an incredible loss and sadness, we find comfort and happiness in knowing that Dad passed doing one of the things he loved most in the world. We know he loved his family, his friends, and his flying. He wasn’t just a great pilot in the air; he was truly a great pilot in life. He was a man who possessed “the right stuff.” He will be sorely missed, but he’ll live on in our hearts- forever flying high.
From our hearts,
The Walker Family
The Wings Over Flagler William “Wild Bill” Walker Scholarship is for recipients who like Wild Bill possess “the right stuff”.
